| The Electoral Complaints Commission (ECC) is the body responsible for hearing and adjudicating complaints related to the electoral process, including challenges to the list of candidates and complaints about the conduct of campaigns and polling. The ECC is a temporary body established by Article 52 of the 2005 Electoral Law. It consists of five commissioners appointed by the Supreme Court (1), the Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission (1), and the Special Representative of the Secretary General in Afghanistan (3). All Afghans of voting age are able to file complaints with the ECC. As an independent body, the ECC does not disseminate information on plaintiffs to the public or other organizations. |
